Annette Montanez (a New Yorkrican) was born in "da Bronx," New York to loving Puerto Rican parents who were both adamant readers. She grew up enjoying classic literature; but mostly comic books, short stories and movies created from books. A typical childhood reader, you could say.
What seems like a life time ago, as a early childhood educator to students ranging from newborn to school age, their favorite part of the day was sitting on the giant ladybug pillows and diving into an excellent children's book. "Whatever happened to that ladybug pillow?"
She currently lives in sunny Florida with nosy neighbors trying to figure out what she's growing in her garden. "Vegetables and herbs if you ask me!" For those who love her, they will tell you she spends her time creating crafts, practicing yoga, reading, cooking, gardening, learning something new every day and traveling the world.
Having traveled to Alaska several times in the last ten years, she fell in love with the people, its culture and wildlife. Her travels would ignite her hidden passion for sharing a little bit of her heart she left in Alaska.
